Mel provided a highly engaging and participatory workshop that pushed, poked and encouraged us to expand our thinking and consider our responsibility and opportunities as marketers to effect change.

It was at times challenging and brain hurty, but I walked away with new ideas to play with in market. I loved the collaborative teaching format that encouraged engagement and participation from the digital classroom.

PUBLICIST AND PR MENTOR @ ODETTE & CO

Mel is a wonderful workshopper and this latest workshop "Unveiling Greenwashing" is no exception.

I would highly recommend for anyone looking to understand the marketing industry landscape through the lens of green washing and understand the powerful role marketers play in shifting consumer behaviours and driving change towards a truly greener future.

AGENCY OWNER @ MISCIBLE

Mel is a rare gem in the marketing space. She really understands how marketing can be applied in social contexts to impact the world for the better! She's also a natural teacher and presenter; this workshop was incredibly engaging and effective.

Melissa's Unveiling Greenwashing workshop posed important dilemmas and encouraged great conversations among attendees.
I appreciate that Mel, even as an expert on the topic, acknowledged that there are answers she doesn't have and inspired me to actively think about my role in marketing for climate action. I've left feeling empowered to recognise greenwashing, full of ideas on how to avoid it and a deeper understanding of my potential impact in the space.

Would 100% recommend!

PARTICIPATING MARKETER

Meet your facilitator, Melissa Packham

I'm a strategist with twenty years of experience, having marketed global brands big and small. After over 12 years in brand and marketing management roles for multinationals like Campbell's, Arnott's, and Lactalis, I have real-world knowledge about what it takes to build iconic brands at scale - and the challenges that marketers face every day.

Since 2016, I've been consulting to startups, scale-ups and SMEs build brands sensibly, sustainably and ethically. As a trained Climate Fresk facilitator, I educate Boards, C-Suites, agencies, teams and groups about climate change. As a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, I’m equipped with the country’s most highly regarded qualification for good governance (that’s the ‘G’ in ESG). My thoughts on ethical marketing and sustainability have been featured in global and national media outlets.

Why this workshop now?

Well, because…
✓ The situation we’re facing is likely far worse than you realise.
✓ Good intentions can unwittingly lead to gross misrepresentation.
✓ Marketing appropriately and with greater care can help make a difference.
✓ Regulatory bodies like ASIC and ACCC are already prosecuting companies for greenwashing.
✓ The incoming mandatory climate disclosure reporting taking effect will trickle down to all companies - which will increase greenwashing risk more broadly.
